Attention all customers.    Read this and you could save yourself some $$$.    As of today, I have raised my prices $5 per sq ft.    It's been about 6 years since I last raised pricing and my material costs have gone up pretty dramatically.    And our process' are now more labor intensive.   Better quality, but inherently higher costs.

Here's where YOU can benefit.    I like it when a customer tells me that they have taken the time to read my blog entries.   So if that is you, and you mention it in your pricing inquiry....    I will honor the old pricing!    A reward for simply reading my blog.    Nice.

Yesterday, we completed and installed a Very nice platform for a gentlman in the tri cities.     Good looking platform and a very functional, yet challenging location for install.    Add to that the outdrive came up higher that the level that he wanted the platform.   So we added a trap door.    The engineering was complicated and we were changing things right up to the last second, but as you can see in the video, it worked well.

Please visit my website for additional information-     www.myswimplatform.com.

Must get to work now.    We've never been this busy and Jeanne is touring Italy.     So I work, eat and sleep (on occasion).

Cheers, Scott

Attention.....New cool product avaialbe for your new Safe Step Swim Platform!

This is the neatest thing I've seen in a long time.    I'm predicting that we sell a lot of them.     We call them Safe Step Dock Dots.

low profile solar powered LED lights that fit neatly into a swim platform.   Brilliant!   Add just a little bling to the back of your boat without all of that wiring.

Endless possibilities if you think about it.    They come in many colors and have replaceable batteries.

To learn more, visit my website at www.myswimplatform.com

Let me know what you think.

Have a Great boating season!    I'm headed to work......

Good Sunday morning to you all!

Sorry it's been so long since I posted.     It's obviously been pretty busy.     Lots and lots of local platforms this year.     We're doing some really neat, exotic platforms.   Very fun.

I'm so proud of Kale.    He is really getting it and seems to find the work rewarding as well.     We work well together and we're having fun as well as cranking out the platforms.

The boat repair business has been slow this spring.   Not sure what's going on except that it's still cold, wet and windy here.    Maybe when the temperature rises, so will that part of the business.

The new house is terrific.    Jeanne and I LOVE it.   Yesterday, we cut the lawn for the first time.    I bought a John Deere riding lawn mower so now I look forward to having to mow!

If you have bee thinking about buying a Safe Step Swim platform, go to www.myswimplatform.com and check out what we've been doing recently.     Our options page has expanded and I think the neatest new offering is the DOC DOTS.     small, flush mount, solar LED spot lighting.    At only $15 ea, it's an affordable way to accent your platform and make it POP!

Have a Great rest of your weekend...

Cheers, Scott

Pictures of Brian's platform

Good Sunday morning.

Jeanne and I took our first motorcycle ride of the year yesterday.    It was a nice break from unpacking.    The sun was shining and it was just above 50.    We hugged the river in front of our new house and headed towards the Idaho state line.    A short ride, but it felt great!    I'm psyched for the weather to now get much better and do some more riding....

So here are the pictures of my customer Brian's platform.    He had seen a platform that was custom built for his buddie's Crownline that he liked.    He sent me a Great template, but I'm proud of our ability to re-create this design for Brian.    I think it looks great.    We ran the top and side "lips" wild so that he could trim it to exactly match his boat's  pocket shape.    Did I mention how much I love working on creative projects like this one?

Another local boat comes in tomorrow for a platform.     We are getting lots of new business around the Spokane, CoeurD'alene area this year.    I know I have an advantage to capture this local business, but still,  I think that the word is spreading and it feels very rewarding.

Why not get to the website and checkout the photos, testimonials and order yourself one?    www.myswimplatform.com

Have a Great rest of your weekend peeps..

New record for all time largest swim platform

That's correct.....just a few short weeks after we built our largest swim platform, we busted that record!    This platform is over 15' wide and 5.5' deep!    It is on it's way to Ontario and it is decked out with the following options:

Two storage areas including an insulated cooler for beverages, two DoCNSafes, Four Neat cleats and a ladder pocket!      Definitely a lot of work for us and we beleive that it turned out nice.    Matt, the new proud owner seemed pleased as well.    He has promised to send photos and a testimonial when it gets installed at his local Marina.

Jeanne and I are in the middle of a move.   She decided that she wanted more room, a shop and some other "must haves".     Overall, it whould turn out to be a great decision, but I gotta say....moving still sucks.  I love the new views, more room and land and the fireplace is nice....but I hate not being able to find my favorite coffee cup in the morning.   I'm sure any of you that have moved recently can relate.

At work?    More of the same.   After a slow winter, we are getting more phone calls, more local jobs and more templates arrive each day.     It will be another record year and I'm still......very grateful.

We are in the process of making a very unique platform.    I love it when I get to get outside of the box and get creative.    We were asked to duplicate a platform that a customer had sent a picture of.....    It required working very closely with the customer for precise templating and install details.    I think it clearly demonstrates our ability to engineer almost anything you can throw at us.    And it might make those who are afraid of the templating process feel more at ease??

I will add pictures of the finished platform once completed.

Gotta get to work.  It's raining here now but it looks like it's going to get into the mid 50's this weekend.    Jeanne and I are planning to take our first ride.    A break from unloading boxes and organizing shoes and dishes.....    Can't wait!

As always, cheers!    Order that platform......I need to pay for this move....lol.    to order:   Just go to www.myswimplatform.com

This is another video that might give you a different perspective on the platform.

I also posted a video on youtube and I've already received comments!:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdSwSBwl_dE&lc=Q_N3_48MA8BXAcDnPqTjyV1De7sgvsdf0vYdgeHPXNU&lch=email&feature=em-comment_received

Boat show finished platform

Hi all!

This is a video of the finished platform.     I built a metal flake, fiber optic swim platform!

Although I did it to bring attention to the booth, show off our creativity, show off our artistic ability and show off our forward thinking.......   it does have real world applications.  Can you imagine sitting in the back of your cockpit at night with a cocktail....and looking down at your twinkling custom swim platform?    I think it would be cool.

That is why I decided to offer this as my latest option.    You can see the option, as well as others, on my website:   www.myswimplatform.com.

Check it out.   I look forward to hearing your comments.

Thanks, and of course....cheers,

Scott

Good morning.

Well, here it is....the world's only (that I know of) Metal flaked, fiber optic enhanced swim platform!

I'm very pleased with how the platform turned out.   However, I originally thought of this as a means to draw attention to our booth at the Boat Show.    The bright overhead lights made the affect less pronounced than I had hoped.    But the folks who do notice it are very impressed and it still is getting a lot of attention.

I'm going to make it an option as I think there will be a small percentage of people who would like to see the twinkling lights on their platforms at night.    It works very well as a marine application because there is no electrical outside of the boat and it draws very little amperage.

I will be doing some more video after the boat show so that I can hopefully get the lighting such that it shows the affect very nicely.

And that will be posted here and on the website:   www.myswimplatform.com

Have a Great weekend!

And thanks for your continued support....

Good morning.

I just had the Best idea!    I was trying to think of a very creative, innovative idea for showing off our abilities and creativeness.    I think that I came up with something SOOO neat.    I'm really hoping that it could go on Pinterest or Utube or FB and go viral....that's how excited I am.

I'm not going to tell you the idea until it's done, and then I'll show you pictures and get your feedback on what you think.  Too fun.   The final pictures will be in the photo gallery on the website:    www.myswimplatform.com.

See you at the boat show!
